A Monograph of the Birds Forming the Tanagrine Genus Calliste is a book published in 1857 by British zoologist Philip Sclater. It is a monograph, or comprehensive study, of the Calliste genus, which includes over 50 species of tanagers found in South America. 

The Calliste genus is a group of brightly colored birds in the tanager family, Thraupidae. They are native to Central and South America, with most species found in the Andes mountains. Callistes are small to medium-sized birds, ranging in size from about 10 to 18 centimeters in length. They are known for their vibrant plumage, which can include shades of blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. Many species also have distinctive markings or patterns on their faces or wings. Callistes are primarily frugivores, but they also eat insects and occasionally nectar.
