About

Charles Arthur Cox (1879-1955) was a British artist and illustrator who was known for his work in the early 20th century. He worked as a commercial artist, producing illustrations for books, magazines, and advertisements.

Cox was also a keen cyclist and his interest in cycling is reflected in some of his artwork. He produced illustrations for cycling magazines, including Bearings, which you mentioned earlier, and Cycling, a popular British cycling magazine of the time.

Cox's artwork often depicted cyclists in action, capturing the excitement and energy of the sport. His illustrations were known for their dynamic composition, bold lines, and use of color. He was also skilled at capturing the human form in motion, which helped to bring his illustrations to life.

In addition to his work as an illustrator, Cox was also a painter and exhibited his work at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours.
