About

Ornithologie Brésilienne, ou, Histoire des oiseaux du Brésil: remarquables par leur plumage, leur chant ou leurs habitudes is a book written and illustrated by the French naturalist Jean Théodore Descourtilz. The book was published in Paris in four volumes between 1834 and 1839 and is a comprehensive study of the birds of Brazil, with descriptions and illustrations of over 400 species.

Ornithologie Brésilienne was an important contribution to the study of birds in Brazil and remains a valuable resource for ornithologists and bird enthusiasts today. The book is also significant because it was one of the first to use illustrations as a way of identifying and studying birds.
