About

De uitlandsche kapellen voorkomende in de drie waereld-deelen, Asia, Africa en America (translated as "The exotic butterflies found in the three continents, Asia, Africa and America") is a book on butterflies written by Pieter Cramer and Caspar Stoll, and published in four volumes between 1775 and 1782. The book is considered a masterpiece of entomological illustration and a seminal work in the field of lepidopterology (the study of butterflies and moths).

Cramer and Stoll were both Dutch entomologists who specialized in the study of butterflies and moths. They collaborated on De uitlandsche kapellen voorkomende in de drie waereld-deelen, Asia, Africa en America in order to create a comprehensive survey of butterfly species from around the world. The book was a significant contribution to the study of butterflies, as it was the first comprehensive survey of the species found in the three continents of Asia, Africa, and America.

Today, the work is considered a landmark work in the history of entomology and a valuable resource for researchers and collectors of butterflies. Its beautifully illustrated plates are still admired for their accuracy and detail, and the book is a testament to the dedication and expertise of Cramer and Stoll in the field of lepidopterology.
