Carl Reichert (1836-1918) was an Austrian painter known for his detailed and realistic depictions of animals, particularly dogs. He was born in Vienna in 1836 and began his artistic career as an apprentice in a porcelain factory, where he learned to paint animals on porcelain.
Reichert later studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he honed his skills in painting and sculpture. He specialized in painting animals, particularly dogs, and became known for his ability to capture the individual personality and character of each animal he painted.
Reichert's paintings were highly sought after, and he received commissions from wealthy patrons and members of the aristocracy. He exhibited his works at various exhibitions throughout Europe and was awarded numerous prizes for his paintings.
