About
Dix représentations de Ballets Russes de Serge de Diaghilew, chorégraphe Léonide Massine (Ten representations of Ballets Russes by Serge Diaghilev, choreographer Leonide Massine) is a book published in 1920 by the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris. The book features ten lithographs of scenes from various Ballets Russes productions, which were created by prominent artists of the time, such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Rouault, and André Derain.
The Ballets Russes was a famous Russian ballet company founded by Sergei Diaghilev in 1909, and it played a major role in the development of modern ballet. The company was known for its collaborations with leading artists, musicians, and designers, and its productions were renowned for their innovative choreography, costumes, and set designs.
The lithographs in Dix représentations de Ballets Russes were created as a tribute to the Ballets Russes and its artistic collaborators. Each lithograph depicts a scene from a different ballet, such as "Le Tricorne," "Le Chant du Rossignol," and "Les Femmes de Bonne Humeur."
