Evelyn De Morgan (1855-1919) was a British painter who is known for her Pre-Raphaelite style and her depictions of classical and mythical themes. She was born in London to a family of artists and received her training at the Slade School of Fine Art.

De Morgan's paintings often feature idealized, ethereal figures set against lush, colorful backgrounds. Her work is characterized by its intricate details, vivid colors, and dreamlike quality. She was particularly interested in depicting themes related to women's rights, spirituality, and social justice.  Her work has been praised for its beauty and its unique blend of traditional and progressive themes.

De Morgan was also a committed feminist and suffragist, and her art often reflected her political and social concerns. She was a close friend of the women's rights activist Emmeline Pankhurst and was an active member of the Women's Social and Political Union.
