About

The Cherries of New York is a book on cherry varieties that was published in 1915 by the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station. The book was written by Ulysses Prentiss Hedrick, an American botanist and horticulturist who was a professor at Cornell University.

The book contains descriptions and illustrations of over 300 different varieties of cherries that were grown in New York State at the time. Each cherry variety is described in detail, including information on its history, appearance, flavor, and best uses.

The illustrations in the book are in color and were created by Charles Burton Tubergen, an American artist known for his botanical illustrations. The book also contains contributions from other horticulturists and botanists, including George Henry Howe, Orrin Morehouse Taylor, and Richard Wellington.
