About

Ito Jakuchu (1716-1800) was a Japanese painter of the Edo period who is widely regarded as one of the greatest artists of his time. He was born in Kyoto, where he spent most of his life studying and working as an artist.

One of Jakuchu's most famous works is the "Doshoku Sai-e" or "Colorful Realm of Living Beings," a series of large-scale paintings of birds and flowers that he worked on for over a decade. The paintings are notable for their vivid colors and intricate detail, as well as their innovative use of perspective and composition.

Today, Ito Jakuchu is considered one of the greatest Japanese painters of all time, and his works can be found in museums and private collections around the world. His innovative approach to traditional painting techniques and his unique sense of creativity and individual expression continue to inspire artists and art lovers today.
