About

Kyūko Zufu, which translates to "Aesthetic Designs" in English, was a Japanese design magazine that was first published in 1902 and continued until 1910. The magazine was founded by the Japanese artist and designer Kamisaka Sekka and featured articles, illustrations, and photographs covering a wide range of design topics, including textiles, ceramics, lacquerware, and calligraphy. Kyūko Zufu played a significant role in promoting the development of modern Japanese design and is recognized as one of the most important design magazines of its time. The magazine's influence extended beyond Japan and was noted by artists and designers in Europe and the United States, helping to shape the global conversation around modernist design.
