About

Takeuchi Seiho (1864-1942) was a Japanese painter and one of the most prominent artists of the Nihonga (Japanese-style painting) movement in the Meiji and Taisho eras.

One of Seiho's most famous series of paintings is the "Seihō jūni Fuji" (12 Fuji of Seiho) series, which depicts the iconic Mount Fuji in different seasons and from various angles. The series is characterized by its use of vivid colors and bold, sweeping brushstrokes. Seiho's depiction of Mount Fuji is also notable for its emphasis on the mountain's distinctive shape and its relationship with the surrounding landscape.

The "Seihō jūni Fuji" series is considered one of Seiho's greatest accomplishments, and has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. The series is also significant in the history of Japanese art, as it reflects a growing interest in traditional Japanese subjects and techniques during the early 20th century, as well as an ongoing dialogue between traditional and modern artistic styles.
